Learning a second language is fun, but it can also become a tedious and boring task if you’re not able to practice with someone in your target language.
The benefit of learning a second language is also immense. However, to reap the benefits you must be at a very advanced level in the language you’re learning.
There are many different ways you can learn, practice, and improve your conversational skills.
The easiest and most popular way is to join a language school and learn, however you can only learn so much at a language school. Also it can become frustrated at times, as they will throw too many books and grammar lessons at you.
Other popular ways include language learning applications, websites, online lessons with native speakers, and many others.
While all of them have their own pros and cons, none of them cover a very important part of language learning process. That important part is to be able to practice with different people, speak on different topics, and to get a real exposure of the language.
These are a few things which made me frustrated at times when I started learning my first foreign language Spanish. I wanted to speak to real people in real time, not just watch videos on YouTube or listen to podcasts. These are very helpful but after a while it becomes boring to keep watching and listening without being able to have a conversation.
This is what made me start this online language exchange meetings and events. These events are completely free to join and organized with the help of native speakers of each languages and volunteers.
Currently our events are available in these languages:
